4th of July

I have not been able to figure out how to make blog posts the last couple months, but I think I just fixed the problem.  Anyways, here are some pictures from this summer

Haircut

 

I gave Isaac a haircut the other night and forgot to put away the clippers.  The next night I was giving Asher a bath and Micah came in and said, "Look mom, I gave myself a haircut."  Ahhh!  He buzzed a patch of his hair.  So all we could do was give him a short hair cut "like daddy". 

Goodbye Home

 

A lot happened in the month of April for us.  We sold our home, found one that we are under contract to buy next week, and moved into an apartment for 3 weeks.  Urban living on the 2nd floor of an apartment with 3 kids has been interesting, but we have slowly adapted.  At first I was counting the days until we move out, but now I'm actually enjoying aspects of living here such as being able to sweep the whole place in 5 minutes.  Here are some pictures of our old home.  The inside pictures are a bit messy since we were in the middle of packing when I took them

Easter

 

We spent Easter here in Nashville.  We had some friends and family over for Easter lunch.  It was the last gathering we'll have before the move this weekend.

 

 

Micah's egg hunt at school.  We had an appointment after I picked him up, so he sat back in the car and ate all the candy out of his bucket.  He kept saying, "mom, this candy is so good!"  We never have candy in our house.  He ate so much that 2 hours later he threw up. 

Soccer

 

Micah is playing soccer for the 1st time this spring.  Luke is the coach.  He's #2 in the video.  I think he's more interested in who is watching him than the actual game.  This is from the 1st game.  This week he scored a goal

 

 

 

 Asher is army crawling around and getting to sitting by himself now.  He actually learned to get to a sitting position by himself before learning to sit for more than a couple minutes.  After a couple days of hitting his head on the floor, he's gotten the hang of it

Loosing Teeth

 

 

Sweet Isaac lost his first 2 teeth last month.  He is showing off his new look here.  We had no idea any of Isaac's teeth her loose.  He came down to breakfast one morning and Luke said, "Isaac lost a tooth."  I did not believe him of course, and checked myself.  To my surprise he was missing one, and the tooth next to it was very loose too.  He lost the second tooth a day later.  I can't believe he is already five and losing teeth!

 

Next year Isaac will be starting kindergarten.  We put our house on the market last month because of this.  It is not easy keeping a house clean for showings with three little boys running around.  We want to move to a suburb county where the special education is more inclusive and offers better services.  We are sad to leave our house however since it is perfect for our family with a large backyard and amazing playroom.  We are praying that the right buyer comes along soon.  Luke and I can't decide or agree on where exactly to live, subdivision or more rural, large or small backyard.  It will be fun to see what we end up agreeing on.

Asher Picture Update

Some pictures of Asher over the last couple months.  He's now 4 months and weighing in at 14 pounds.  Asher is such a sweet, happy baby.  We have gotten in a good routine around here and I finally feel like I have the three children thing under control.  That will end when little Asher becomes mobile I'm sure. 

 

 

Christmas Party & Program

The Christmas season is never complete without sitting on Santa's lap, school parties and programs, and running around like crazy for a month.  Every year I wonder why we do this to ourselves.

 



 

Isaac had a Christmas party at his school complete with a Santa.  Micah and Asher got to participate too

Adoption Update

It has been about six months since we accepted our second adoption referral of 18 month old Sidonie.  She seemed like a perfect fit for our family and even had the exact same birthday as Micah and Luke.  We loved receiving the monthly picture updates and seeing her grow.  On the day before Thanksgiving, we received the news that we are no longer able to continue the adoption process of Sidonie.  Her case in court was taking awhile and we thought something was not quite right.  We were not able to continue the adoption process due to some decisions by the village chief and locating her birth mother.  But the great thing is that with the help of our agency, Sidonie was able to return to her birth mother.  We know that it is best for her to be raised by her birth mother and in her culture.  It is not God's plan for children to be orphans.  His plan is for all children to be with their birth family in a perfect world.  We are so excited that Sidonie is going to be able to be raised by her mother.  But the world is broken, and there are true orphans who have no family.  This is where God calls us to fill in the gap. 

We have begun the process of accepting another second referral.  Our first referral has been moving smoothly through the adoption process, which has been a blessing.  We are excited to share more details as we get farther along.  Please pray for our sweet girls as we continue through this adoption journey.

The Boys' Birthday Party

The boys picked out Thomas the Train as their theme.  Surprise, surprise!  The great thing about all of the boys' birthdays being close together is a joint party.
